DAY 1

Morning
• The advantages of artificial breeding
• Stallion management
• AV preparation
• Semen collection procedures
Afternoon
• Semen evaluation by photometry
• Microscopic evaluation
• Use of CASA to evaluate semen motility parameters
• Introduction to flow cytometry (if applicable)
• Use of flow cytometer to analyse semen traits
• Semen packaging, identification, freezing
• Post-thaw evaluation

DAY 2

Morning
• Mare management
• Ovaries ultrasonic detection
• Insemination with fresh/chilled/frozen-thawed semen
• Embryo transfer
Afternoon
• Embryo transfer technology
